• Who can apply for D-visa in Cairo?

Embassy accepts D-visa applications from applicants residing in Africa and from Jordan, Lebanon, Oman and Iraq. All other applicants should contact us before booking an appointment online.

• Do I need to book an appointment for D-visa?

Yes, you have to book an appointment online.

• Can I apply online?

No, if it’s your first Estonian D-visa application. As a rule application is lodged personally. As an exception the presence of the minor is not requested, if the minor does not have to give fingerprints. In this case presence of parent or guardian is sufficient.

• Can I apply for Estonian D-visa in any other country representing Estonia in Africa?

No. In Africa, Embassy of Estonia in Cairo is the only representation where you can apply for D-visa to Estonia.

• When will the decision about the visa be made?

Applications are examined and decided within 30 days from the date of lodging.

• Does the passport of the applicant have to stay at the Embassy during the examination of the visa application?

No. You can take your passport with you and fly back to your home country to wait for the visa decision. If you are granted a visa, you will have to bring the passport back to our Embassy in Cairo.

• Is there a tracking number for my visa application?

No. We will send you an e-mail when the visa application procedure is completed.
