List of Supporting Documents to be Submitted by Applicants for Short Stay Visas in Egypt
Compulsory information to be presented by all visa applicants:
Traveller profile (family ties and travel history)
Proof of the applicant’s family ties and marital status in Egypt through an extract of the family register entry “Kid Aely”.
For first time applicants or in case of lost passport: The ‘Mogamma / movement certificate’ (indicating whether the applicant has had previous passports and whether the applicant has travelled to the territory of the Member States).
Travel arrangements
A round trip booking. The ticket should be bought only after the visa has been issued.
Proof of accommodation, such as prepaid hotel reservation, other prepaid accommodation, or confirmation of private accommodation.
Purpose of the trip
A document substantiating the purpose of the stay.
Solvency: Original bank statements for the past 6 months. Original bank statements must be translated into English and indicate that you possess sufficient means of subsistence both for the duration of the intended stay and for the return to your country of origin or residence (130,8 € for each day in Estonia).
Document to be provided by employees: Certificate of employment, specifying the date of recruitment, position in the company and salary level.
Document to be provided by company owners: Original of the commercial registry and tax card.
Document to be provided by pupils and students: Proof of enrollment in school or university.
Document to be provided by minors (under 18 years old):
If the minor travels without his/her legal guardian: consent of the parental authority (both parents) or legal guardian shall be provided through a notarised certificate. A copy of the minor’s birth certificate and a copy of the passport of both parents must be presented.
If the minor is travelling with one of his/her legal guardian: consent of the parental authority (parents not travelling with their minor child) or legal guardian shall be provided through a notarised certificate. A copy of the minor’s birth certificate and a copy of the passport of the authorising adult must be presented.
List of supporting documents to be submitted by applicants travelling for the purpose of tourism:
If the applicant is an employee: Confirmation of leave approval.
Itinerary, if visiting more than one Member State.
List of supporting documents to be submitted by applicants travelling for business:
Invitation letter: Official invitation from the inviting company (on official company paper, stamped and signed, OR digitally signed (.asice file), sent to the Embassy’s e-mail address) containing the following information:
full address and contacts of the company;
nature of the business;
name and position of the countersigning officer;
purpose and duration of the visit;
person or entity who will bear the travel and living costs;
whether the sponsor gives financial guarantee for the visa applicant’s return to Egypt.
Information to be provided by the Egyptian invited company:
Copy of the invited company registry or tax card.
Official company paper stamped and signed, mentioning clearly:
full address and contact persons of the company;
name and position of the countersigning officer;
name, position, salary and years of employment (if applicable);
purpose of the visit;
nature of the work contract;
person or entity which will bear the applicant’s travel and living costs.
List of supporting documents to be submitted by applicants travelling for the purpose of visitingfamily/friends:
An invitation letter signed by host family/friends (please send a digitally signed (.asice file) to the Embassy’s e-mail address) containing the following information:
– Full name of the applicant;
– Full name and address of the host;
– Duration of visit.
If the data regarding the host has not been verified by the authorities of the Member State dealing with the application, the applicant should present:
a) A copy of ID card or bio data page of the host’s passport;
b) Residence permit;
c) Proof of residence (property title deeds, rental agreements etc., proof of income);
d) The host’s original bank statements for the past 6 months (or last three payslips or proof of income), if the host pays for the visit.
List of supporting documents to be submitted by applicants travelling for the purpose of medical treatment:
Certificate from the local reference doctor and/or a medical institution stating the kind of medical treatment or examination needed.
Official document from the receiving medical institution confirming that it can perform the specific medical treatment and that the patient will be accepted accordingly, including an estimate of the cost of the treatment.
Financial guarantee: Confirmation of prepayment for the medical treatment or any other proof of the financial arrangements made.
List of supporting documents to be submitted by applicants participating in cultural or sports events:
For minors: Student card and original letter of the school mentioning: the full address, telephone number of the school, permission for absence, name and function of the person giving the permission.
Minors travelling alone: See point 1.8.
Original letter of invitation from the organiser of the event.
If applicable: letter of the institution sending the concerned applicant.
